In a past post I explained how Covert QR came about and how we achieved Quick Release in our sticks.  Every player we talked to wanted it and we developed a test for it.  We then set out to build our sticks with improved Quick Release and use this test to fine tune.  Now I’ll walk you through our full line of Quick Release sticks to show you how we made Quick Release for EVERYONE, no matter what level you pay!

Covert QR1 – $259 USA, $299 Canada

Think of the Covert QR1 as a Ferrari or Lamborghini.  If you’ve seen the way those cars are made, they use the very best parts and master craftsmen in their own closed factory to make them.  We do the same thing, but with hockey sticks.  We use the very best materials, the very best process in our pro factory in Mexico.  All the best layup technicians, best painters, best graphic installers in the game.  These sticks are hand-made one by one and painstakingly put together with composites and carbons from the best aerospace suppliers in USA.  This very closely guarded process is the same we use for every stick we make for the NHL players you see on the ice.  Whether it’s Max Pacioretty or Henrik Zetterberg, your QR1 is made in the same factory using the same carbon materials.

That said, the QR1 is the lightest, fastest stick in the QR line.  At a mere 410g, it is our lightest, but we didn’t sacrifice durability.  This stick is meant for the players looking for high performance and feel.  The very best we make.

Tech Breakdown:

Covert QR Pro – $199

The Covert QR Pro was originally developed for high level programs that have tight stick budgets.  They need high end sticks, for high level performance but need a little more life and lower cost.  These sticks were specifically made for programs like NCAA teams and Canadian Major Junior teams we supply to (ex. Windsor, Gatineau, UMaine, AirForce, DenverU).  These players are very hard on their sticks but still demand high performance.  The QR Pro fits that bill very nicely and could be used by AAA/JuniorB/C players.  It features longer length for these bigger players.

Tech breakdown:

  • Weight: 440g – 63″ Length SR
  • QR Test: 80 millisecond snapback
  • RightWeight Balance – True1 construction, light blade feel

Covert QR3 – $149

image

The Covert QR3 is lighter than our Covert DT1ST in the past!  Our engineers figured out a way to cut down the weight through better engineering and more efficient use of materials.  This weight savings, and better balance makes this stick feel like a pro level stick for $100 less.  Though the stick may not have the same level of Quick Release, it still performs extremely well compared to the model it replaced (DT3LT).  QR3 is 83mS compared to the DT3LT at 89mS.  QR3 is quicker.

Covert QR4 – $99

The Covert QR4 is probably the best value in our line.  Super lightweight, amazing balance and performance Quick Release.  This product will be best suited for minor hockey players, house league or adult league players that want low kick to help improve their shots and release the puck quicker.  Wrist shots are made easier since the Dagger Taper allows the stick to load easily.  Slap shots, though not often for these type of players, are optimized since the low kick quick release will allow the puck to fly off the blade without effort.  This stick is in a very light and durable package, coming in at only 470g.  For perspective our original Dolomite was 480g and $180!

  • Weight: 470g – 60″ Length SR
  • QR Test: 86 millisecond snapback
